Welcome

Hello and welcome to Episode 5 of the Shinybees podcast. This week, we have a run-down of recent happenings, a re-attack on the C word from Episode 3, we chat about F.E.A.R, Wippin’ Piccadilly is back as well as a trip to Stellenbosch and finally the return of the Shinybees Pattern Pick.

Re-attack (08:05)

I mention the ongoing KAL/CAL on the Shinybees Ravelry group for Knit-a-Square and draw your attention to the UKHKA list of charity knitting projects. We chat about the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and the Poppy Factory, as well as the Poppy Shop’s awesome jute bags.

The F.E.A.R. (12:50)

This week the random musing is partly brought to you by Ian Brown of Stone Roses fame, and partly by a few of my dear friends. You can find F.E.A.R on iTunes here.

Wippin’ Piccadilly (21:45)

Damask goes to sleep, whilst we cast on and off and on again for the Stripe Study by Veera Valimaki. Owls is ongoing, and there is the special FO tale of the Love Train shawl by Susan Ashcroft aka ‘Stitchnerd‘ along with those fabulous South African ladies. As usual, Nurturing Fibres plays a large part in this section! Sewing wise, it’s more bunting, an apron and a tracksuit top.

South Africa (36:55)

We’re in Stellenbosch for a spot of wine tasting this week!

Shinybees Pattern Pick (40:50)

Theme for this week is ‘Poppy’ and the list can be found in my Ravelry collection here.

Wrap up (44:55)

As always, a big thanks to you lovely listeners for joining me. If you would like to get in touch, please do so – I love to hear from listeners. I am Shinybees on Twitter and Ravelry, you can comment on the blog or email me at shinybeesinfo@gmail.com.
