Intro

Hello and welcome to this special episode of the show, where I am thrilled to welcome Susan Crawford to the show. A UK-based knitwear designer who specialises in vintage design and fashion history, with four books already published and stocked in the V&A and Waterstones as well as within the British Library, she also runs a farm in Lancashire where she keeps sheep, goats, ducks and chickens. She’s just completed a labour of love in her fifth book, the Vintage Shetland Project, which recreates 25 garments from the Shetland Museum archives and chronicles the stories behind these garments, as well as patterns to knit them. Susan has painstakingly transposed these from the original items, ensuring the designs and history will live on through the book and new projects that are made as a result of it. I think it’s a fantastic project, which is why I’ve backed Susan’s Pubslush campaign, and why I hope you will consider backing it too.
