When yarn and inspiration collide
Week two of #FreeYourSkeins2015 Friday is upon us, and this week there was a very straightforward choice made. I’ve been looking for the perfect way to combine all 3 skeins from The Golden Skein’s Autumn Harvest quarter within one project, to represent the inspiration photo. Joji popped up with the ideal opportunity to do just that and have a bit of fun with the pattern, too, with her ‘3 Color Cashmere Cowl’, covered on #FreeYourSkeins2015 Day 9.

The yarns are all 100% BFL and were dyed to the inspiration photo ‘Autumn Harvest’ by Tranuf. The original plan behind having the same base was to allow subscribers the chance to have a bit of a play with colour and use more than one skein from the package together easily. Quite a few people have managed to do this successfully. My skeins are still languishing in stash, gently maturing with their woolly brethren.
Another obvious choice for these yarns would be a ‘Color Affection’ by Veera Valimaki. I am not sure I could manage quite so much garter stitch in one project; it’s not my favourite stitch, although a lot of people love it. This is definitely a good ‘mindless’ project, but at over 1000m, it isn’t for the faint hearted or those lacking in stamina!
