Hello and Welcome to Episode 13: The Cat in the Hat. What it says on the tine, effectively. All will become clear….
Welcome to all new and returning listeners, thank you for joining me again. Special welcome goes out to all listeners who have come over from Yarns From The Plain podcast. I enlighten everyone to the Not So Top Secret Top Secret project that has been ongoing Chez Shiny: The Golden Skein. This is a new yarn venture in which Kate of Kate’s Twirl and I are creating specially commissioned yarn collections, with exclusive colour ways dyed by dyers around the world for your knitting pleasure. The website will be going live in January. In the meantime, you can keep up with developments on Ravelry, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.
I also found out that my lovely old Victorian house is actually the Money Pit, and if you haven’t seen it before, that link is a YouTube video. You will get the general idea from that. And a bit of turkey.
If you are very quick, you might be able to get in on the Pod Retreat!
I am still working on the Guardian Angel by Sally Cameron. This is being knitted in Nurturing Fibres Merino Lace Singles, in the colour ways ‘Escape’ and ‘Silver’, from Natural Yarns. I have cast on the Sunny Days Shawlette by Carle Dehning, in Nurturing Fibres Supertwist Sock in the colour way ‘King Protea’, also an exclusive colour way to Natural Yarns. I have finished one of the Cranford Mitts before being accosted to knit something else for HBM. Finally, we have the first the Golden Skein project, which is the RibbelMuster Socks.
I am being assisted in altering the pattern for the RibbelMusters by Clare Devine of yarnandpointysticks blog. She has just released the cutest leg warmer pattern, Toasty Talus, and will be releasing a sock knitting e-book very soon.
Finished objects are just the HBM’s Angels aka Toddler Bike Mitts by Kristen Wise.
This episode, the pattern pick takes on a festive theme of the turkey. Bear with me. This then gets a bit strange and lateral half way through – no surprises there – and is probably my favourite one since the infamous Movember thing pick last year.
That is all for this episode. Thank you very much for listening. Please feel free to get in touch and let me know what you think. Enjoy!
