Shiny’s Hive Business Mastermind Retreat

The first Shiny’s Hive Business Mastermind Retreat took place in Cumbria from 26th to 29th January 2017.

It’s a weekend focused on getting away from working in your business to work on your business with like-minded business owners.

It’s about taking yourself away to the country to enjoy the scenery in a beautiful stately home and reflect on where you are in your business and where you’d like to go.

It’s also about coming up with a personalised action plan to kick start the year and achieve the goals you have for your business.

I’ll be on hand to guide you through this process and offer advice and a sounding board for you as you mastermind your struggles together and work on your next steps.

Sound good?

Add in delicious food, uplifting and positive company and not one, but three open log fires to really get that reflection and a little relaxation going in 5* surroundings. Perfect to take the chill off following a bracing winter walk – so bring your woolies!

The location is a Grade II listed stately manor house set in 25 acres of private wooded grounds. It has Victorian walled gardens, manicured lawns, woodland walks and is the seat for the small village which has a lovely little village post office tea room shop, a great and reasonably priced antique shop and The Old Village Bakery which serves breakfasts, lunches, coffees, homemade bread and cakes. There’s also several pubs close by.

The Hall is situated close to Penrith and is easily accessible by car or train (3 hours from London, 1 hour 40 from Edinburgh by train and close to M6). It is a 15 minute taxi ride from Penrith station.

There are rooms which have king size or super king size beds for single occupancy and twin bedrooms for sharing if you’d prefer the sleepover with friends feeling. If needed, there is an adjoining cottage with further single occupancy rooms.

All rooms are ensuite, with Egyptian Cotton linen and feather pillows and duvets (which can be changed to anti allergen if needed), complimentary guest toiletries and fluffy towels.

Full broadband wifi is available throughout the Hall.

The Hall is exclusively for our use for the duration of the stay. If you find group events a little tiring, there are six principle reception rooms, should you need some time out.

Attendees will arrive on Thursday afternoon/evening (check-in is at 1600).

Thursday evening will be an informal meet & greet, where you can get to know or become reacquainted with the other retreat attendees. Dinner will be an informal buffet/canapé style with some fizz (alcoholic and non-alcholic).

Friday is mastermind day. Following a delicious breakfast, we’ll break off into groups where we will spend the day masterminding.

What does that mean?

Well, you’ll be bringing your big struggle in your business right now to the table and we’ll all brainstorm ways for you to overcome it. Five heads are better than one, after all! Each attendee will have a dedicated 45 minute slot.

Having attended masterminds before, I can tell you, these are powerful sessions. You’ll get more clarity in 45 minutes than you would by yourself in weeks.

Saturday is action day. I’d get the fry up if I were you. Today we will be deep diving into your business. In the morning, we’ll be unpacking where you are at right now. Yes, we’ll be going down to brass tacks and getting our hands dirty on your actual position, as without knowing this, you can’t make a plan to get you to the next place on your journey.

After lunch, we’ll dream big on where you want to go with your business and make an actionable plan for you to get started on as soon as you return. I’m not talking washi tape and pens here (although you’re welcome to use them so long as you do the work afterwards!) – we’re talking about executing and getting you to where you want to go, however that looks for you and your business.

Sunday is all about reflection. After a relaxing breakfast, we’ll gather together to share our learning points and aha’s from the weekend. I’ll also be on hand to answer any questions or offer advice or feedback on your plans going forward, once you’ve had time to sleep on them.

If there are any subjects or specific questions you’d like covered, this will be when that takes place (feel free to ask them in advance so I can prepare resources if needed).
