I’m going. Are you?
It’s shaping up to be a big one, and the details are starting to be revealed more readily now. Listen on for some exclusive news and a giveaway of a pair of weekend tickets. Let the enabling begin!
Hello and a hearty welcome to all new and returning listeners. A pleasure as always to have you here. How are your #SockSurgery socks coming along? I might have cast on two pairs. Oops!
Things are rocketing along at #FreeYourSkeins2015 too. You can check out all the previous patterns here, as well as on the group on Ravelry and on Pinterest. The first yarns have landed from quarter 1 of the Power of 3 2015. It’s all getting very exciting!
Edinburgh Yarn Festival is fast approaching and I have a little more news to share with you regarding the programme for the Podcast Lounge. Clare, Kate and I will be running a Sock Surgery drop in on the Saturday, where you can come and ask questions, get help with any socks knitting woes you may have, or just come and photobomb us with sock wips!
On the Sunday, I’ll be running an informal Enterprise Enabling session, where there’ll be a Q&A about starting your own venture in the yarn industry.
Want to win a pair of tickets to Edinburgh Yarn Festival? Head over to the Ravelry group giveaway thread and tell me which vendor you’re most excited to see at Edinburgh Yarn Festival.
The Indie Burgh Yarn Crawl is returning for a second year on 13 and 14 June 2015 in Edinburgh. Going up to a two day event from a single day outing, it looks set to be a good one. No further details as yet, just a date for your diary. I’m definitely going!
Yarn and Knitting are moving into their bricks and mortar premises at 16 Gloucester Rd in the North Laines, Brighton. There’ll be a grand opening party on 7 February between 2 and 6pm. Go along if you’re in the area; if not, you can check out the online shop here.
This one is all about podcasts. Check out Sally Trollip’s Wooldiaries podcast from Jo’burg in South Africa:
Or you can have a listen to The Baarmygirls.
First up is The Golden One, which is the Kunye pattern by Clare Devine as part of the #TGSOneKAL which is ongoing, and you can join in anytime.
Next is the Quadratic Shawl. This is so going to be finished by the next Wippin’ Piccadilly.
Then there is Owls by Kate Davies. Join in with the #owlsalong!
For the #SockSurgery there’s the Octarine Socks in When Granny Weatherwax Knits Socks Octarine colour way.
Then there’s the Braambos Socks in Boomslang Yarns’ Makhado Sunset.
Finished object wise there is Sammys’ Funk Bustin’ Tank Top.
That’s all for this episode. Thanks very much for listening. Tune in next week for the Sock Surgery and how to fix your socks when Bad Stuff happens.
